Founded in 2003 by a small trust of practising nurses and educators who believed nursing deserved a college of its own — one that took bedside care as seriously as it took the lecture hall.

ABC College of Nursing Sciences began in a converted residential building on Bellary Road in 2003, with one batch of thirty GNM students and a faculty of seven. The founders were not administrators or investors — they were practising nurses, midwives and tutors from city hospitals who had spent decades taking report at 7 a.m. and giving report at 7 p.m. They built the college they had wished they could study at.
Twenty-two years on, the campus spans an academic block, four specialised labs, a 650-seat auditorium and two hostels. We run four programmes including a postgraduate school with five INC-recognised specialisations. Our 5,000+ alumni work across India, the Gulf, the United Kingdom, Ireland and North America — each carrying a ABC education into the rooms where it matters most.
What has not changed is the founders' promise — that every ABC graduate would leave not only with a degree and a registration, but with the clinical confidence to walk onto a ward on their first night shift and know exactly what to do.

Our Mission
To prepare nurses who practise with science and serve with compassion.
We exist to graduate registered nurses and nurse specialists who combine sound clinical judgement with the dignity owed to every patient — and who are ready to serve where the need is greatest, from tertiary intensive care to a rural primary health centre in Kolar.

Affiliation to RGUHS is granted and the first B.Sc. Nursing batch of 40 students is admitted. The library is expanded to 3,000 titles.

Foundation Skills Lab
Twenty-five bedded lab where first-year students master the bed bath, injection technique, catheterisation and asepsis before ever touching a patient.
Simulation & Critical Care Lab
High-fidelity SimMom, SimNewG and SimMan manikins reproduce over 200 clinical scenarios, from eclampsia to cardiac arrest, for safe repeated practice.
Nutrition & Biochemistry Lab
Working kitchen and assay benches where students learn therapeutic diet planning and basic biochemical investigations.
Community Health Lab
A model rural home and urban slum setup where students practise home-nursing, family assessment and bag technique before their PHC postings.
Library & E-Resources
Over 9,400 nursing titles, 38 national and international journals, and access to CINAHL, ProQuest and UpToDate through RGUHS e-consortium.
Auditorium & Seminar Halls
A 650-seat air-conditioned auditorium and three seminar halls host the lamp-lighting ceremony, guest lectures and the annual ABC Utsav.
Hostels & Mess
Separate, secure hostels for women and men with hygienic mess serving South and North Indian meals, supervised by resident wardens.
Sports & Wellness
Throwball and volleyball courts, indoor games, a meditation room and a student counsellor for mental-health support throughout the year.

Our 42 full-time faculty include a former INC syllabus committee member, a high-risk maternity specialist, a public health PhD leading the Kolar community programme, and a paediatric critical-care educator who built our partner hospital's neonatal resuscitation protocol. They teach because they still practise.
